q's for those with boost gauge

i have some questions for those with boost gauge on their evo.
does your car get 19lbs of boost or does it show lower.

if you'are getting 19lbs, is it on every gear?
what rpm does it peak out at?

i installed my gauge but it only peaks at 16lbs in 1st,2nd,3rd,and 4th. on fifthy, i get about 17lbs.

i checked all the vacum lines and they are all connected tight.
man, i dont want to keep taking the car back for service.

I've had mine for a couple days so far, the highest I've gotten it was 18psi, but I didn't redline it. Mine holds the peak boost, so I wasn't looking at it and I don't know what rpm that was when it hit 18psi.

One question I have is that, is it supposed to hit peak boost at 4000rpm and keep it til redline?

I get highest reading in 4th and 5th gear. Before I added the mbc I think I was seeing around 18.5psi. Now I am running 19.5 with the mbc.

You should peak at 19-19.5 at around 3500 RPM and then drop off to 16 psi from about 5000 RPM on up to redline.

Where did you tap into the get the boost readings? This could be why you don't see the boost.
If you went through the rubber grommet on the passenger side the easiet tap in is to tee the vacuum line at the manifold that goes to the Fuel Pressure Regulator solenoid. But don't tape after the solenoid and before the valve.

When my car was stock it was about 19.5 most days tapering to about 16.5 at redline.. The weather had a small affect on the pressures occasionally..

Hard to tell exaclty from the picture but as long as you are in between the barb on the manifold and the solenoid you are okay.
You just don't want to be between the solenoid and the Fuel pressure regulator.

That line to the fpr has a check valve of some sort in it. The regional parts manager said not to use that line. If you notice there is a delay between the engine starting up and any vacume/boost reading when tapped into that line.

FWIW

Well, where else was I supposed to cut it? Did I void my warranty by doing so? I don't notice any delay when starting up at all.

That is my point. As long as you tap in between the manifold barb and the FPR solenoid you are fine. You can't be after the solenoid.
