car wont start
car wont start
Two days ago I installed an act clutch, changed my fluids, o2 housing, spark plugs to bpr7es, and a licp. That along with a fuel pump, full exhaust, and a forge bov are the only mods I have done to the car. The car has been driving like a beast for the past 3 days, but yesterday something happened.
I got in the car and let it warm up for maybe a minute and than drove maybe a mile staying under 3000rpm, It probably was not fully warmed up yet, maybe halfway there(I wasn't really paying attention). I take the car up to maybe 4-4.5 thousand rpm and I hear a loud shot. I'm almost completely certain it was a backfire.
For some reason the car died and I cant start it back up, it cranks but there is no combustion. Couple hours prior to this I was changing the fuel pump which I thought was the culprit, but I took off the high preassure hose to see if fuel would start pouring out of the tube connected to it and it seems to pump fuel.
I checked everywhere for visible damage, but couldnt see any signs. Tomorrow I'm going to do a compression test.
I'm going right now to try to put the old spark plugs back in and see what happens.
On a side not, I did add some fuel injector cleaner to a full tank of gas, but I still put aboout 10 miles on the car prior to this happening.

Changed the plugs to the old ones and still no start. I thought it was the LICP too, but I looked at it and it seems fine. I also inspected all the piping and it seems to be connected. Maybe there is a leak around the clamps like you guys said, but I'm not sure how that would prevent the engine from starting. Im definately going to inspect it tomorrow in the daylight and try to do give you guys a better description.

Checked all the piping it seems nice and snug. Than tried to start it with both the MAF sensor unplugged and plugged. The engine cranks it just doesnt want to fire up. I cut the wires connected to the o2 sensor, the one that sits in the o2 housing, so i had to splice them together, but there were two black ones. not being sure with which ones to connect together, I just grabbed the first best. The car still ran for maybe 4 hours after doing that. Right now I tried to connect the wires with the other ones and it still wouldn't start.
A similar thing happened with the fuel pump I didn't unplug the gray plug inside the fuel assembly housing. The plug has a gray and blue wire in it and I accidentally pulled them out of the plug so I looked at some pics for referance and I'm sure I put them back in the right place. The pump seems to work because I can hear it pumping and seen fuel flow out of the high preassure fuel line.
This mixing up of wires made me think I burned a fuse, but the major ones I checked were all fine.
One thing I noticed is that the engine relay(not too sure if thats what it is) doesn't seem to work, if that is possible. What Im reffering to is that loud clicking noise you hear as soon as you turn the key and are about to start the car.
any other ideas guys?

Well, unless you find a solution..last resort..put the stock fuel pump back in and see if it starts. I just had this happen to me about 2 months ago. I was going crazy trying to find what the problem was. I even pulled the fuel line and fuel came shooting out when cranking the engine. However, if the injectors aren't seeing the correct (high enough) fuel pressure, they won't open. If nothing else works, I say give that a try. Good Luck!
