I currently have only an RMR air filter kit and the blue spring was causing a fluttering sound. I installed the yellow spring today and everything is great, but I'd like to know if I'm leaking boost pressure with a really soft spring. Tom said green is the softest, then yellow, then blue, and lastly red is the stiffest.
hm...

If you're trying to go to a stiffer spring, why are they sending you the green one? I thought Tom just corrected my table of stiffness above... He says that the green is actually softer than the yellow one..

I installed the Forge diverter BOV (polished) after reading project Evo report; ordered it from Vivid, it came on time and man is this thing built. I appreciate quality and this valve has it. I installed it exactly as the stock BOV which was leaking at about 1.1 bar and the leaking stopped, no fluttering very smooth. I didn't crack it yet as it seems to be working well, however if Forge recommends one spring over the other for our cars I guess I'll be buying their tuneup kit when they sort it out.

Emil,
just to clarify I am sending the green spring because the tuning kit should have come with three springs and the shims. He only received two different springs which left him with only three choices, yellow, blue(which was in the original valve), and red.

I ordered mine direct from Forge Motorsport also. These are the kind of people who have a very loyal customer base... I wish the rest of the industry would take note. Good job guys

Ditto.
I was impressed that he took the time to have a technical conversation with me about the springs and new piston.

To double check Tom, I picked up Mobil1 Synthetic Grease it's red and comes in grease gun tubes.

Thanks

Forge,

Here is a question that people may be contemplating, I am.

Is there a specific boost pressure rating for each spring?

I you are replacing the piston you need to relube the o-rings for the new one since you will lose most of the grease on the ol piston.

Is there a specific way you should orient the BOV? Should the vaccum nipple be pointing at the radiator or upwards? I have a flutter with green spring and no shims, and only an aftermarket intake. Stock boost. Is the flutter damaging?

I have the same problem with my VTA, im running the yellow spring with 2 washers in it, and i get low boost flutter, but when i floor it, it flutters as it gets to lower RPM's after the blow off. It didnt do it when i just had the yellow spring in there, so im confused. Forge, help?!
