heres a simple question i think- i have a mbc and my boost stayed pegged at 1.4kg/cm2 now since it has been warmer allthe time my boost is now pretty steady at 1.3kg/cm2

is that noramal for the temp to cause this to happen?

yes this is normal and one of the disadvantages on a MBC. It will changed due to the air being thinner due to warmer weather.

EBC!!!! It has to due with the properties of cold air vs hot air... cold air is denser and you can compress more of it

does it work the same for altitude? So If I drive from Chicago to Denver (which I'll be doing this summer) I'll need to crank up the mbc? Although maybe not if they only have 91/92 octane out there

Yup it works the same for altitude. You will notice a drop in boost with a major altitude change.

The only real solution for this is to use a electronic boost controller with closed loop (feedback) boost control.. some of the less expensive EBC's also work similar to an MBC and would require readjustment periodically, obviously doing it inside the car is alot easier. And many have two or more boost settings for that reason.

i had an ebc first- the profec b and it was such a pain in the butt. that is why i went to a mbc- so i guess i will have to deal with periodically adjusting it

e-boost is the newest one out there and it comes with flash memory so it could be upgraded whenever new software is available..
