Stroker or Stroked short block?

Im wondering if i should get the AMS Stroker Short Block: http://www.amsperformance.com/store/...roducts_id=689

or just the stroker kit: http://www.amsperformance.com/store/...products_id=94

Also what are the advantages of the short block(besides it can hold more power), i dont think it makes any power but i could be wrong.

thanks
james

The difference between the kits is simple but neither kit assuming you install it perfectly would be any different.

Short Block:

In the short block everything is assembled professionally for you which means you get the motor and put it into the car.

Stroker kit:

You basically get to do it all yourself
- Dissembling the motor pulling all the components out
- Clean and degreasing the block
- Checking for bore size and proper clearances on bearings
- Filing down the rings to proper sizes
- Installing the bottom end with ARP studs
- and so much more steps i'm not going to remember here

End result is installing the stroker kit takes time patience and an iron will not to cut corners

Instead of a 2.3, you could go to a 2.6L

I think magnus is grossly overpriced. They are a great company, but their prices do not justify IMO. I would definitely stick with Buschur or AMS.

2.6l wont be able to rev like a 2.3, just like the 2.3 cant rev as high as a 2.0 (built 2.0 that is) If you didnt mind a long down time and trust your mechanic the go with the stroker kit. If not, then get the short block, easier, less to go wrong with, and it is built by IMO the best Evo shop.

id just buy the shortblock instead of the kit unless you like tearing your motor down to nothing.
