ya there isn't really a how-to on this out there, except for the instructions on AMS's site on how to install their VSR SMIM. Basically unbolt the strut-tower bar, misc hoses and connectors, unhook the throttle cable, yank off the fuel rail & injectors, unbolt the dipstick, and then unbolt all of the bolts holding it on.

did you get the two bolts on the bottom of the intake (connects to the bracket to help hold it up) If you pull your battery and tray out, you can squeeze it out that way without having to take the strut bar off. Make sure you get all the vacuum lines disconnected because you will brake the EGR solenoid (have done so, easy to miss)

yes, watch out for the support bracket below the manifold. It's hard to see from the top of the car. Those bolts are a pita to get to.l

Did you get ALL the bolts/nuts on the intake to head flange? there are like 12 in total. 2- 12 mm nuts, 2- 12 mm bolts, 2- 10 mm nuts, and like 4 10 mm bolts.

What about the nuts on the studs? The one by the alternator bracket could be overlooked.

12mm ratchet style box end w/ ability to angulate, gotta do them mainly by feel

My forearms got some cuts due to squeezing it behind the manifold on connectors and clips etc.

if you are referring to the bolts that hold the i/m to the head, that you can't see...ratchet wrench is a good tool. Working by feel mostly. Make sure the coolant lines are out of the way so you can access them from drivers side of the car reaching under the i/m. I have also done it from under the car but that is even less fun lol.
