Best Cams for a 2.3 stroked GT35R car

what in your opinion would be the best cams for a stroker setup with the gt35r turbo. I've heard that Jun 272's are GREAT cams BUT they lose a lot of power down low but make a lot more up top. the only thing is with a stroker engine you lose you're high reving ability to a certain degree. Would a stroker engine be able to take full advantage of those cams or are they mainly best for a built 2.0 setup since the 2.0 can rev higher???

please make cam suggestions if you cam. I'm more curious than anything. I probably wont buy anymore cams (i'm pretty happy with my hks 272's even at my power level). I just got tuned the other day and the tuner said with different cams i could have probably been able to pull out another 75 whp. I'm just curious to see what ya'll think. just let me know ya'lls opinions

car = road car with occasional quarter mile drag trips

This is a very good question and Ive been wondering the same thing. All the big cams like the Tomeis, JUN 272 are all HIGH RPM cam which you arent utilizing with a stroker. Im interested to see if anyone has real world results in changing out the cams in a 2.3 car and what the effects were.

I'm not an engineer but I would assume that the volume of air being moved due to the increased stroke of the 2.3 (over the 2.0) would still tap the potential of the high lift/long duration cams previously mentioned? If I am off base, please explain.

All of that aside, I have heard about big power being made with the Revolvers.

Good luck.

Personally I run a GSC 280 and I kindof feel like it isn't big enough for my setup. I'm ither going with JUN 272's, BR 272, or GSC S2's. If the GSC S2's were a little more proven with big power cars that would be my #1 choice mainly because of the unmatched customer support greg@gsc offers.

we run a custom grind gsc, and we are dropping back to an S1 cam... with the size turbo we have, and amount of headwork, we make power up top no matter what, which isnt important to me... so im going to something a little more mild.

Paul Nelson put the S2's in his car which put him over the 1000whp mark. What else do you want?

GSC S1's for the win!

If you talk to Greg at GSC, he'll most likely tell you the S2's are going to be too big for your application. The S2's are really big and meant for really big hp cars, like 800+ whp cars. Post this same question in the GSC forum and see what his recommendation would be.
