new to evolution scene

jus wanted to say what up to everyone here. jus got my hands on a 03 evo8 and have to say this car is sick. i'm coming from a 300zx twin turbo with 475hp about 390 to 400whp and i have to say im impressed with this car, the launch and not having the *** on the car hang sideways when accelerating is a pure blast.

i already have a problem though which i have read is pretty common an its the clutch. the clutch thats in it now is the tilden twin 6puck racing clutch $1700.00. This is the worst clutch ive ever driven with for everyday driving but it grabs than a mother when accelerating. since its worn out im thinking about getting an ACT.

how is the ACT for an everyday driver any input will be appreciate. also how is the exedy clutch? coming from a nissan exedy wasnt even on a list of clutches to get, it was jus RPS.

again jus wanted to say whats up, mods on the car is alot since its running 11's in the 1/4 and everyday driving in the streets of New jersey.

if you go with act get either the hdss or the xdss. the xdss has a heavier duty pressure plate. im running the xdss with the 6puck disk and an act 10lb flywheel as well. it holds well and has good catch. not a whole lot of increased pedal stiffness over stock .

the feelings on ACT is mixed on this board, i personally love the ACT clutchs and never had a problem with them. but exedy down to tilton are pricey but are worth the extra bread.

welcome to the evo world!

funny thing is the clutch still grabs good while driving but when im at a light and press the clutch in, the car still moves forward as if the clutch wasnt engaged, i'm thinking its the pressure plate. at first i thought its was my john shepard trans cause it shift rough into first gear but shift great after take off. also have to force it into reverse a little. gonna get a new clutch on thursday jus wanted to pick a good one, thanx for the info so far
