Sup guys!

Alright, I need your guys's help!! Okay so heres the situation, I currently drive a '03 Lancer OZ and my brother drives a '02 Mazda Protege 5 Yellow. So since EVO's arent available up here in Canada, when we were in Las Vegas we took a look at em at a dealership and he fell in love w/ the BLUE BY YOU EVO. Well so did I, He always talked about how he wants to get one and blah blah blah but I always told him that he would be stuck w/ the Pro5 for the next couple years atleast

WELL...times have changed....the Protege 5 is being sold within the next lil bit b/c my brother has been getting harrassed by cops b/c of his car. He's always get tickets for: Tint, blue turn signals, exhaust, driving w/ fog lights....like total bull**** stuff. We figure his car and plate have been tagged so hes jus getting rid of it, he has gotten over a $1000.00 CDN in jus tickets on accessories jus this past year, so my brother has had enough, hes sick of this ****. Whats scary is, he has had 5 offers on his car within the past 2 days.

He's probably selling it to one of his buddies. His buddy is offering $20,000 and my brother is 26 and he has lots of money already saved.

So heres the deal, he really wants a EVO but we jus read in today's papers that they wont bring em up here b/c of bumper regulations, so I told my brother to look into bringing one up here from the states. He's not sure if its possible, I told him dont toss out the idea, research it. I also told him that I always chat up on this board and u guys are super helpful.

What I would like is if anyone can give ANY feedback into what my brother could do into gettin a EVO up here. Or if there are any past posts that are recommended that he can read, if u can post the link. Jus something so he can get his research done, I think that would be wicked if he got a EVO up in Canada. Any recommendations would be GREAT!

You can check the canadain forum and the 2 last stickys I belive have info, as well, im going to create a nice, orgnaized, imformal info page on the CLC website once its open, which will be in a week N a half or so. So, if you want to wait, or just read my article/info again, which will prob. be more organized/understandable, ill post a link here

best thing to do is WAIT.....or go see your dealer, some dealers around Canada have been bringing evo's up and are doing the paperwork with the government to try and sell them...that'll be the best way to get one and cheapest too is to buy one from a dealer that has done all the work and mods for you

and try reading the other posts before starting a new one....there are already at least 5 or 6 posts in this same forum that list tons of info on the evo and why it can't come into canada....do a search if need be

 

The Evo has recently been specifically added to the canadian government's list of ILLEGAL imports from the US. They wised up and no longer consider it "just" a Lancer anymore. Sorry, no Evo until it's brought to the canadian market by Mitsubishi
