Any list of what we can do to our car without getting a ticket?

hey, I was wondering if anyone knew of a website or something that lists what things we may get tickets for aftermarket modifications on the cars in Canada, ie. over tinting windows, etc. , my friend recently got a ticket for blue tinted license plate cover and 2 blue led's he had on his hood where the windshiled wiper fluid comes out. THanks for your help in advance

You can't do much without getting a ticket. There will always be some cop who interprets the HTA differently. A car thats too low for one cop is fine for another. Prime example:

Drove my lancer up to woodbridge and was stopped or had my car looked at by several cops over the summer. The lowered stance was not an issue.

Drove my car to Pickering and I was stopped and the cop said "your really pushing it on the lowering". And my car is 2 finger widths above the tires.

you can take a look in the Nov. issue of Sport Compact National, they list everything for Ontario and give you a list of websites for all provinces.

for ontario: www.mto.gov.on.ca/english

for alberta: http://www.qp.gov.ab.ca/documents/re...sbn=0779717090

Tint maximums (Ontario):

Front windshield: 3-4 inch stripe across top, opaque
Driver and passenger windows: 20%
Rear windows & windshield: 5%

oh, and in case you guys were wondering:

Every person travelling on a highway with a sleigh or sled drawn by a horse or other animal shall have at least two bells attached to the harness or to the sleigh or sled in such a manner as to give ample warning sound.

hahaha

I know the sides are LEDs so when I drive by a white car it turns their car blue

I know sometime last year the Toronto Star put out an article on street racing and they listed legal and illegal mods. Unfortunatley my wife tossed my copy but quite possible the public library will have a copy. If I get the time I will go and look.

just use common sense.

I mean... blue lights visable ANYWHERE... pretty much a no brainer

as for lowering... as I understand, when your wheels are turned fully, if a cop can't get his hand in between the rubber and the car then your cutting it close.

as far as engine mods go... as long as you're not hot ******* it and doing some stupid stunting **** then no worries right?

there was a HUGE bust on street racing here a few years back, we all got a nice crash course in what's illegal to a cop that night.
