Tilton or Exedy

So, I'm about ready to start tracking my evo and I was wondering which company puts out better high end products in terms of clutches and flywheels. I know the Exedy carbon clutch is advertised alot on this website, but I've also heard nothing but praises for Tilton products. What are your guys' opinions on this matter?

tilton triple carbon is the best clutch period! very light pedal feel close to stock and each clutch is tested for how much torque it can hold and it comes with the results in the box. My cutch held 1,160tq!!!!!

I had an exedy triple carbon and even after properly heating it up it would slip at anything above 500whp.

I went with the Tilton ceramic twin disc and I love it. It holds 740lbs of tq. and is still pretty streetable once you get used to it. IMOP the biggest thing about Tilton is I can call them direct and talk to them direct and not a retail location as with Exedy. Same with the rebuilds, send it to them direct and deal with them and there customer service is great.

Tilton does not make a triple carbon for the evo only a twin carbon. Like said above i would stay away from the exedy carbon. How much power do you plan on making? i would decide which clutch to go with after you know what power level your looking to be at.

Don't let the $4000.00 price tag of the Tilton scare you,you will learn to pull your tranny frequently if you plan on Daily Driving your Evo.
Here, hope this helps "understand" the Tilton Twin Carbon from someone elses experience.

exedy is much more streetable.... tilton will take anything you throw at it, but you'll hate moving from a stop with it... and when you let off the gas decellerating the chatter is ridiculous

You have obviously never driven a Tilton Carbon/Carbon clutch car as this is how mis-information is spread around .The above statements are just not true with the Tilton Carbon/Carbon, just ask anyone who owns one
