New record for pump gas, set with the HTA35r
It was discussed here sometime ago that the UK tuners were running considerably more boost pressures than their U.S. counterparts, despite using a similar fuel to our 93 octane. When it was asked how U.S. tuners concluded that 22-23 psi was the max possible for 93 octane fuel, no one had a clear answer.
As the boost pressure is turned up, the ignition advance has to be reduced. At some point, turning up the boost pressure further won't yield any additional power, simply because the ignition retard will be too much. As to where this point typically occurs, it's never been made clear. . . but it appears to be significantly higher than what most of us expected, as you can plainly see in this discussion.
And I might add that turbo efficiency definitely is a factor here that cannot be ignored.

I can run on pump all day long!!
I'm also dying to find out if '93pump = meth power' is in the future.
There is no secret here guys. Yes there is a lot that goes into what will make a car det. And in that perhaps some BR parts help the situation. But in general, as boost increases, ignition advance will need to be retarded. Just about anyone can run 30 psi on probably 91 if they wanted. But it would likely be the case that the ignition timing is so retarded your just hurting the situation at that boost level.
But for a well setup car and on a bit better gas like 93... Dave is finally showing people what can be done. How it has taken this long I dont know lol.
If you look at the guys in the UK, they run on 99 RON Shell V-Power which is according to any source I've read, equivalent to 93 PON. They run 2.2 bar boost on pump fuel maps! And they make 600+ hp at the crank on pump with those maps and a GT35R.
Now Dave is doing that consistently basically. Which is cool.
link for you and everyone to the thread Ted mentioned https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=250559
The exhaust is not a dual exhaust, it simply uses two mufflers. One where the cat would go and one in the rear of the car in the normal position.
dead, the PCV in this car is operational and hooked up. Just the vent on the end is vented to atmosphere.
twstedevo, you are due for a trip to our shop anyway
Come up, we'll change a few parts around and I will give you a tutorial on the AEM.
