need fast answer on tranny fluid

I'm headed to Mitsu parts to buy fluid. My Honda dealership is installing my ACT clutch/flywheel tomorrow for $200. Am I going to need any other fluid besides the OEM tranny fluid? Gear oil? TC fluid? What exactly should I get and how much????

The transfer case will need .58 qts of Diaqueen lsd oil. DO NOT SUBSTITUTE FOR ANYTHING ELSE! You can get them online, dealership, or ask someone who owns an Evo. Every Evo owner should have spare Diaqueen lsd oil.

$200? Don't be surprised when that figure changes when the confusion clears.

The Mitsu dealer charges around $900-1000 for labor alone.

+1^ yeah they wanted to charge me about $1K. Why woudl you bring and EVO to a HONDA dealer to do the work unless of course its someone you know and they know what they are doing..... Alot of problems with clutches arise from improper installs. Im sure you know this having posted 243 times but just giving you a heads up.

To answer your question use OEM fluids.

^^ I know. Crazy price. $300 less than anywhere else I was quoted. I have worked here at the Honda dealership as a sales manager for 2 years. It pays to be friendly with everyone in the service department. They looked up the average national install time (10 hours). My techs cost of labor is $18/hr + 10% dealership markup = $200. I told them it was going to be a little more challenging but they are up to it.

I am worried a little since the tech has never done a clutch on an Evo. He does have 25 years of experience though.....

I wouldnt do it but thats just me. Mitsu and Honda/Acura are totay different I used to work for Honda and Acura for about 8 years and when I look at the EVO I scratch my head most of the time and just pay someone to do the work that knows what they are doing.
