Sure which one will perform better. Tell us please. A manifold built to match or a manifold built for twin scroll used on a single scroll turbo.

I've got a PT 35r with .63 exhaust housing, anyone know if FP can still convert that to their HTA unit?

My exhaust housing is ported so I wouldn't want to give that up, but I wouldn't mind a new balanced turbine, compressor wheel & anti surge cover for $450.

Turbine and hot side are unchanged. Compressor wheel and compressor housing are different.

That being said, twinscroll setups normally dont "like" mismatch turbos, so it might work well, and it might not. Hopefully we can do a back to back test of twinscroll 35R vs twinscroll HTA35R on Evodan's car

that is not entirely correct -- there is nothing at all wrong with using a single scroll turbo on a twinscroll manifold!!

you can send the twinscroll 35R to FP and get the HTA upgrade. You just NEED to make sure you get a twinscroll T3 Garrett 35R. The turbonetics twinscroll T4 flanged F1-35R will not work with the HTA!

i spend a lot of time in union beach (117 on the pkwy), thats where we do most of the east coast builds/fabrication. moving to matawan shortly!

sounds good chad! sean ivey was going to squeeze us in but i think he's been really busy lately. your dyno would be a great test facility for the TS 30R vs TS 35R test

top mount manifolds will not result in increased top end performance. If anything it would decrease the performance because of the convoluted downpipe you have to run...

i dont think that is correct

you are correct (again)!! im not sure if you remember david buschur's stock replacement header test, but a great comparison of this is RNR's stock replacement ramhorn (which lost power everywhere over stock). This is an indication of what happens when too big and too large a runner is used, all else being equal

You're moving to matawan, Geoff? nice bro...I have GOT to get back to NJ.....PA sucks up here bro!

Sorry for pirating the thread.

that depends on the turbo size and range of exhaust mass flow rates at the intended optimized operating area

my understanding is that there is no difference. I can not say for sure, but i have seen results to back this up.

Really geoff, no gains/advantages between running a divided hotside with a divided manifold vs the divided manifold and open hotside?

Well, let's assume we're continuing this thread with the HTA and the 35R TS as the turbos under discussion. Can you give an opinion on what would be "too big and too large" a runner (generally) under those circumstances? Thanks.

what im saying is this -- no gains/advantages between running an undivided manifold and undivided turbine housing vs the divided manifold with an undivided turbine housing

give me some manifold pics and turbo/engine setups and ill give you my input. it all depends on the configuration and application...

Geoff! Matawan is next town over from me in Old Bridge. I'd like to get together and talk about my options here with the TS 35R and the HTA. Hit me up on AIM.
