to me the 35r is not "THAT" laggy...but you wont max out the 35r on stock block..so i wouldnt consider a 37r.....and plus youll have a lot beter power band

to be honest with you guys, i daily drove my evo with a 35r, stock block, and all the basic bolt ons with aem ems.... and when i got on it was perfect for me. the lag people spoke about was there and it wasnt at the same time. you'll notce the lag when you run a stock turbo evo or anything less that turbo, but then when it kicks in you'll forget about the lag because your smiling all the way to the top. some people are impatient....im the type of guy that can wait 1 sec until the boost kicks in. daily driving is cake walk when you also have a good clutch to support it also. good luck try not to spend to much lol

stick with the 35r. It pumps out enough power trust me lol. Plus you wont be able to take full advantage of either the 35r or 37r without a built motor. So why not go with the one that gives you the smoother powerband??? Also if you ever do built the 35r is plenty enough

Definetely enough power. Before the season was near over I put down one run. My previous best was a 12.18 @ 114 89.12mph in the 1/8. That was with very aggressive timing. I pulled 5 degrees of timim=ng and ran on 18LBS of boost on gT35R and went 96MPH in the 1/8 mile. it began to rain. I was pissed. I blew my LICP off and it ended my run. I love the 35r

^Yup i've been thinking about the clutch too, but yeah it looks like i'll go with the gt35r and eventually build a 2.3...so hopefully i'll get to around 475awhp or more on race gas with 280 cams or 272 cams?

you're fine on stock block with the mods you listed. With c16 you'll easily make over 500 whp on dynojet. It's laggy but not that bad. I get full boost around 4600-4800 rpms with RNR gt35r kit. You'll surprise how good the stock block is just make sure you get a good tune with minimal knocks.

i am also looking to do the GT35 kit on my Evo, specifically the AMS GT35 kit. I just wanted to ask you guys what clutch would be good to support the power, but not be a burden on your leg for every day driving or traffic?

I know the best clutch out there is the TRIPLE Plate clutch, but thats more for the track GT42R evo's but when shopping for clutches there are a MILLION clutches in the mid range class. So from the people who have a GT35 what clutch are u running and how does it feel on every day driving and traffic?

If you want to max the turbo out I've always heard its best to go with a triple plate. Like the exedy triple plate or the HD version of it. I have the exedy triple plate standard duty and its not that bad on the streets. with 3 discs you have so much surface area on the discs that you really don't need an extremely high pressure plate. So the clutch is pretty easy to push in
