Exedy stg1 and gruppe s flywheel review?
Who has this combo and what do you think of it? Drivability? noise? value?
I have a 6 speed car and am NOT planning on exceeding 500whp. I may end up with meth and the stock turbo or a green with meth. Daily driven, stock clutch has lasted 24K but I think it's on it's way out. 24K is a pretty long time being driven hard so I'm thinking the Exedy Stg 1 will be adequate for what I'm doing. I prefer a minimalist approach. My car is making 361/345 in DLL right now with a TBE, tune, and aftermarket boost solenoid. Lots of boost. There is always alot of discussion about the twins that are out there but not as much talk on the single plates.

I believe that the stg1 Exedy is a 44% increase in clamping force over the stock. That being said, given the data collected from other members experiences on EvoM, the stock clutch can hold easily around 300 whp all day long. Multiply that by .44 for to get 132 and add that to 300 gives you 432 whp holding capabilities. Now, whether or not the stg1 can hold that much I'm not sure since your correct in that most people in that power range go with the twin disc or ACT HDSS. Would be interesting to know.
