Do HKS 280/272 cams work with stock valvetrain?

This is what im currently running. No matter what I tell this guy I know, he wont believe me. So the input from the community would be great. It even states directly from the HKS website that they work with the stock valvetrain, but he asked the thread to be made anyway.

So the question is, "Will HKS 280/272 Cams work with stock valvetrain?".

I know PLENTY of people that runs 280/280 HKS and didn't upgrade their valvetrain.. I am personally running the more aggressive Cosworth M2's with no upgraded valvetrain.. the important part is to keep the stock rev limit... and you will be fine

+1

I would only upgrade if you plan going above 8k.....due to the stock like lift on the HKS cams they aren't required...

Most people don't upgrade, but it can't hurt. Then revs past 8k are no problem; allowing real top end on a big turbo car.

I run the HKS 280/272 staggered combo as well. I am on original valve train bits. No problem to 7500 RPM, so far.

I had the HKS 280/280 with the stock valve train last year, and ran them up to 8200 rpms. No issues...

I have HKS 272's with no valve train upgrade and my redline is 8K. No problems for now. I will upgrade later for the AMS 30R I plan to get just so I can reach higher RPMs.
