please help

im kinda new to the threads so please bare with me.
so last night i was out cruisin with some friends and my buddy in his z28 camaro wanted to race. long story short in 4th at about 4500 my car backfired or so i thought very badly. i immediately i pushed in the clutch and coasted to a stop. my ses light is now on, id imagine for a misfire, but the car runs fine. a friend thinks it was a fuel cut. another recommends a upgraded fpr as he thinks the stock cant handle the 1.5 bar im pushing. i would like to kno if anyone else has had this happen to them and what is it that happened.. if i detonated or anything. also what i can do to fix this problem like a new fpr or tune or whatever.. my mods are buschur TBE, MBC, intake, and walbro fp.. i also have an apexi neo but it isnt instlled yet. please help.

thanks

it's not the fpr. Everyone runs that much boost without problems from the fpr. Do you have a tune? It sounds like either fuel cut, or a just a miss due to running high boost and too rich to ignite the mixture.

it's probably fuel cut then due to overboosting. You gotta love the cold weather for making boost! You'll need a tune though to get rid of it.

Your playing with fire changing your boost without a tune irregardless if it runs rich from the factory. Its foolish to do that because thats how you break things and blow ish up. With the denser air (40 degrees) creating a denser charge than what you already turned it up to it could have caused the bang. Turn it down until you get a tune and do a compression test to make sure everything is healthy.
