2.3L stroker...cam and turbo spec

Hi,

I want to ask...if put 2.3L stroker from 4G64 to 4G63 block (100mm stroke), what cam is the best ? need to stretch to highest rpm power band possible permit by this hybrid. coz from what i read, 100mm stroke can't rev that high...so, using very high duration cam that the power only come at high rpm is not very good.

high duration cam = high rpm power band

100mm stroke = not so high rpm power band

so, this 2 combo is not so good...is it true ?

1 more thing...about GT35R...what A/R turbine housing is suitable to stretch the power band to higher rpm ? or better stick to 0.63 becos the 100mm stroke can't rev that high ?

p/s: Jun 272 suitable for 2.3L stroker or not ?

Stock cam has the shortest duration so you'd have the lowest rpm range. But what you can do, is take the HKS/JUN/whatever cams and widen the lobe seperation by way of adj cam gears. That would give you more duration but you'd end up with a power range somewhere between the HKS's and stock.

You're post is fairly confusing. You talk about wanting power then you wanna stretch the power band higher??? The 35R suits the stroker amazingly well. If you wanna hump buschur's leg, forced performance has come out with a new 35R that supposedly spools sooner and makes more peak power. I believe that uses a different housing, but some have done it with the .63 with good results.

sorry for the confusion.

what i meant was how to make the stroker engine make much power at high rpm as possible..coz after browsing this URL below, i saw a steep torque drop after 5800rpm.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=171831

so, what can we do to make the torque still can continue strong up to 6500rpm and not dropping too much like in the url i post ?

in the url above, the 2.3L stroker use GT35R 0.63 a/r turbine with 272 cam (dunno what cam).

so, if we use AMS VSR intake, Jun 272, GT35R with 0.82 a/r turbine, larger TB, what torque figure can we expect ? torque still drop too much at high rpm or not ?

I think you fail to see how much better that torque curve is than the 2.0l. It creates vastly more torque for much longer than the 2.0 does, though it may not have the peak power, that 2.3 will be faster than that 2.0. This isn't always necessarily the case, but in this instance, the 2.3 is better. If you still want to raise the power band to the high RPM range, you have it right, bigger turbo, intake, cams, they'll all raise the power band. If you narrow the lobe separation and increase the duration on the cam, that will cause the most efficient rise of the power band.

I need to have my motor rebuilt I would like to go with the 2.3L but I know the stock turbo will not flow enough in the upper rpm's will the FPgreen work? Any other suggestions that won't break the bank?

I wouldn't put an FPGreen. Save up for the 35R and do it right the first time. My stroker is supposed to be ready to go end of this week. I left the turbo as is for now. Some form of 35R in the future. Buschur has an HTA35r which has a ported compressor housing and is supposed to provide faster spool up, which may not be necessary with a stroker.

the best combos been tested r these

2.3 crank on a 4g63 block

using a gsc s2 camshaft or a gsc s3 hydraulic which holds at high revs very well indeed and makes good power where the s2 can run oot of puff

or the other options r the tomei pro 280/290's i here their very good as well on a gt35r , juns r great using a custom gt3542 basically a gt35r using a gt42r compressor, common in the uk mair than anyone else in the world, need tae test em on a s2 and s3 should be nice
