Rattling & Vibration from TC

Guys:

Do you know if the bearings in the Transfer Case are changeable? I've getting a rattling coming from the Transfer Case, no, not the "death" whine that I've heard before. It sounds more like a bad bearing. Are these changeable?

Also the fluid that's in the TC, apart from the ring and pinion, what else does it lubricate?

Thanks!

Nothing else lubricates the transfercase but the TC fluid that you change every few 1000(4 for me) miles. Are you sure it's the transfer case and not the wheel bearings...

TC = gears on gears on gears

Thanks but you misunderstand, specifically what else apart from the ring and pinion INSIDE the TC gets lubricated. There must be bearings suspending the gears. Are they also lubricated by the gear oil?
Yes is the transfer case!

What else is going to lubricate it? What ever gears/ metal on metal that create friction and heat will be coated and lubricated by the transfercase fluid. There is not bonus fluid that I know of..

There is a bearing in the tcase that can go. Its above the ring gear which I circled in this picture. But I do agree with evoryder that it is more likely a wheel bearing a tcase bearing.
