GT3076R turbo questions!

I know there are tons of threads on here about the power and driveability of upgraded turbos. And I have read quite a few. I just want to get more opinions from people who have used a GT3076R turbo (or closely comparable turbo) on their DD and for any occasional racing and how much you enjoy the turbo on the street? What other upgrades do you have on the car? The main upgrades I am curious about is injector size and fmic size/brand. Also, if any of you are running meth, how much more did the meth help out with power and did it have any effects on response? TIA

-Brandon

Perfect for DD with a IX or on a 2.3 the response/tq is out of this world.

Capable of 360ftlbs and 480 ftlbs depending on boost and octane.

i'm hoping with the IX that it will spool pretty quickly and make some decent torque and power although I have only 91 octane...but there will be some meth as well!

You should be good with a 2.3 for sure

Hey

I have ordered a GT3076R with a .78 Twinscroll along with a 2.3 Stroker for a IX

I think it is a perfect compromise for a daily driver over having a huge Turbo that spools late, I prefer my dd to preserve the characteristics of a stock car interms of drivability but make a lot more power...

I think this combo will do that.

I had both the AMS 3076R and the 50 trim, prefer the 50 trim. It hit 200rpm sooner and once underway it spool faster. At least in my setup anyway

200 RPM was _very_ noticeable to me ... both when I gained it going from an AMS 3071 to an AMS 50 trim, and when I lost it again going with the VSR intake

Thanks for all the feedback.

Right now with meth my car was hitting full boost at 3600rpm and torque at 3650 rpm (24psi). So I'm hoping that once tuned we can get the 3076 to spool around 4200-4300 rpm. Does that seem like a possible goal or would it be closer to 4500-ish rpm for full spool? BTW - I'm on the stock 2.0...not a 2.3...although I hope to have a stroker later on.

anyone concerned about 200rpms needs to have their head checked how long does it take your car to cover 200rpms? a tenth of a second?

4200-4300 on a 3076 should be doable. I have full boost just below 4000 RPM on my 50 trim setup.

Yeah, but when you're putzing around town, traffic seems to ALWAYS move at just about 200 rpm below where the turbo is spooling.
