Ok, granted this could be bs advice, but fourteen years ago I used to keep a dipstick heater in my S10 pickup truck that was parked outside in the winter, and it started much easier compared to when there was no dipstick heater.

I had a MBC on my car and it did the same thing when it got cold outside. I switched over to an electronically controlled boost controler and doing so I had to hook the lines back up to the factory boost solenode. It starts and idoles fine now. I'd take the MBC out of the loop and go back to the facotory boost solenode and see what happens.

Why would the idle be set to 1000rpm?

I think you can alter rpm setting based on temp on evoscan, but 100% positive.

1000 rpm idle is for the cams. If I could I would drop it down to 900 but dont have the equipment to do it. Today I adjusted the idle screw but the idle speed remained about the same. If you unsrew it the idle goes up but then goes back to normal. If you thighten it the idle drops but then will go back to normal again. Anyways i left it fully screwed in and this seemed to make it better but it still isnt fixed.

Well after driving a couple days with the idle screw set to the lowest idle setting its not any better. It still surges but not as often and it goes to about 1300rpms insted of 1500. When the idle comes back down it goes to as low as 700rpm and wants to die but it doesnt. I turned the idle scew up a little to prevent it from going so low. This Sat Im going to clean out the throttle body and see if that does anything. If anyone has anymore ideas please let me know.

I found the problem is the intake pipe. I put the stock rubber intake tube on and it idles fine. I put the buschur intake pipe back on and the idle is still surging even after an AMS tune. I do have my mass air flow sensor upside down. Do you think this could be the cause? I want to flip it around but am not sure if this will effect the tune or not. I know the easiest way to fix this is to put the rubber intake pipe back on but I like the Buschur pipe. During the summer weather this problem goes away. Any ideas would be great

To be clear this is when the car is warmed up with outside temps lower than around 40F. When I cold start it it doesnt surge. Im assuming it starts when it goes to closed loop. When its warm outside this surging goes away.
