Ok,

First one, its only happened twice the first time i ignored it and it just happened again,

When i start my car the Handbrake, Battery and Waterpump light stay on, i turn it off and back on again and they go away, whats the go with this?

Also now that its getting warmer here in AUS my idle has jumped up a couple of 100rpm, which is good its now hitting what i want it too, so is there something in ECUflash that increases idle per intake temp or something? cause i want it to idle like it is now in the colder weather.

Ok so i let the car sit again for another couple of hours and it did it again, give the car a bit of a rev and the lights go out,

The windows where also slower too,

I drove it home from work which is about 20mins on the freeway, i tested the alternator when i got home and it was charging @ 14v, but can this be an intermittent issue and my alternator is on its way and i should look at getting a replacement?

 

Might just be your battery going dead. Get it load tested.

 

Ah ok, because the other night when i was driving home i swear the headlights where dimming every so often

 

could be your alternator starting to poop as well. i would start with the battery.

 

Yup, im betting on alternator...Same thing happened to me!

whats the best way to determine if the fault is the battery or alternator?

I rang the stealership and they want $1535AUD and there is none in the country.....

Is there an aftermarket part number?

 

The battery can be load tested by most automotive shops. Here in the states we have an auto parts store called "autozone" they load test a battery for free.

If your battery has caps, open it up and see if it just needs fluid. Some distilled water will be suitable to top off the battery fluid.

 

Yeh it doesnt have Caps and it hasnt done it again since the other day weird....

Anyway, does anyone know about the idle up with warmer intake temps? i want to adjust it for when the weather is cooler

 

Its your Alternator. It's about to pass away. That's evo code for saying I need a new one.

 

anyone know anything about the higher idle with warmer intake temps, i found increase ISCV with intake temp but its at 0, is there something else i should be looking at?

 

I sorted the idle thing, for some reason my original tephra definitions had the ISCV Idle and Drive around the wrong way, i noticed this when i used the latest tephra XML they where swapped around

 

Ok so this morning i was driving on the freeway and the radio shut off and all dash lights came on the dash for about 3 seconds, then the lights went away and the radio came back online,

About 4 mins later it did it again, now i need to try and diagnose if its the battery or alternator, any help?

Its the alternator isnt it

 

Ok going to get my Battery Load tested today at lunch time, lets hope its just the battery fingers crossed
