I have an Evo VII and i was wanting to get the power FC but when they brought it over here they had to re-program the ecu for crap American gas as silver sufer was talking about earlier. I dont think that they make an American spec system for the Evo VII that would comply with american gas. Do you think i could just use the Evo VIII system?? Please help!

Does the Power FC retard ing when the car knocks??
I am trying to verify this, along with a couple of other points but we may not know for sure until we get one. I would imagine/hope that it does, and that we could adjust the amount of timing retard based on the amount of knock. We should be able to find out before to long, unless some one with an earlier version can tell us about there's.

Hey silver surfer check out this quick thread on the buschurracing forum. Maybe you had the same error occur when your blow off valve was installed.
Even though I am not using the stock selonoid, I knew better than to unplug it, if that's what you meant. I did not see anything in the thread you pointed too about a BOV though?

From what I am told, there are some hardware differences between the VII and VIII, so it may not work, but just because the VII version only comes with JSPEC maps does not mean you cannot use it hear in the US. All you (or a qualified tunner) have to do is readjust the fuel/ignition maps for our octane.
