If your car is angled it probably won't come off easily. Are you using jack stands? or a lift? if you're using jack stands do you only have the front of the car lifted? When I did my clutch install I ended up holding the t-case up with another jack. It was almost impossible for me to get it off so I didn't even bother.

U dont need to remove it if just doing clutch...Just strap as far away as you can and u will be fine.....If you want to remove it jack the engine forward and will give you more room to drop it off the shaft....U only have one engine mount holding the engine so it should jack forward easily.....

as someone else said if your on jackstands then put a jack on the front motor mount and lift up the engine which will give you a lil more room in the back to work with

So the transfercase is still on the tranny then?

If you are talking about one of the three bolts on top of transfercase holding to the tranny...I just reached from underneath the car with a socket and extension and hit it that way.....

Honestly from the posts that you've been making and I'm not saying this because you're a girl (I know a girl who just did her own clutch on an Audi S4) but I think you should take it to a shop.

All it takes is one slip-up and you could either be A.) Dead...B.) out of a lot more money than you intended to save when going into this whole job.

there is one bolt holding the tranny to the engine block that is located behind the transfercase. the OP is correct in this respect.

in order to get that bolt off, unbolt the transfercase and push it as far out of the way as you can. you can push it far enough to get a box end wrench on the one bolt, and take that bolt loose without actually taking the transfercase off the car.
