I am sorry if this has been posted before but I have a brand new 95-99 turbo eclipse air filter cone and I was wondering if it will fit on the evo VIII with no problems. I am new to turbo cars and the evo. I know the engines are the 4g63 but I didnt know if this is universal just like the BOV. Thanks for any help.

Yes, you will need the MAF adapter. I am running the K&N FIPK from my '95 Talon TSi AWD.

One thing though..... I got that filter back in 1995. I think K&N may have changed the design, because I bought a replacement K&N FIPK, with adapter, for the Talon, and this filter is bigger. Like the physical dimensions of this thing is bigger than my old one, and only the old one would fit the Evo. Not sure why this newer one is bigger.

Go get the kit, but look at the filter first. If it looks too big, it probably is.

 

Just save yourself the trouble and but the VR4 kit, it has the correct size filter and adapter.... enjoy

 

I installed the 95-99 eclipse filter it fit perfect and looks great!

can anyone take pictures of the Eclipse filter kit on their evo, i'm curious to see how it fit. Also did you guys removed the stock air box's brackets. If so, does your IC pipe rattle or hit anything?

 

2nd gen eclipse kn-57-5504-1 $115+
3000gt kn-57-1500-1 $170+

only difference is that the 2nd gen filter has a bolt on the filter which is used to bolt up to the stock mount in the eclipses. the 3000gt filter might be a little bigger. either way, both will fit.

 

the eclipse filter is actually longer by 2 inches if not more...
