65mm TB Port causing whistle

Anyone know of a remedy? I had my stock TB ported to the 65mm and now it seems to have a good whistle to it once cracked open at 7-10% TPS. Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks in advance.

rounding off any sharp edges can solve this problem.

Buschur, they state it happens and they would take a look at it. I am confident that they did their job correctly so I just wanted to see what others had done to remedy the noise. I didn't notice anything when installing the TB but I wasn't looking for an issue either. I think I will do another inspection and check a few things in the next couple days to see if I can fix the sound.

I've had two 65mm ported throttle bodies on my evo, they both whistled. It's not that annoying to me personally, so I've chosen to just live with it instead of looking for a fix.

I will let you know if I do find a fix for it. I am going to try a few suggestions, I also have my own ideas to try out.

I pulled the TB off today for a closer inspection, everything looks as perfect as it could be so I tried a few different things behind the plate and they really made no difference at all. Honestly at this point I was stumped, the only other thing could be the clearance between the throttle plate and body. I don't here everyone talking about this problem just a few of us. So I reinstalled everything and wanted to try a different approach.
This time I wanted to find the exact source of the sound so I tested with a stethoscope and found that the sound was being pushed back through the BOV = 50mm Tial. Currently my BOV has a 7lb spring and it stays close at idle (High lift cams) but when blipping the throttle it would open up and make this sound very noticeable. Next I just pulled the BOV off to be sure and to verify I was right and I was. With the BOV off the chirp was even louder and every time I cracked the throttle, I could place my hand over it and I couldn't hear hardly anything. At this point I was running out of time so for my first testable solution was to re-installed the 50mm Tial with my 10lb spring ;what it was shipped with. After doing this you can no longer hear the chirp at all when driving the car but the downside is you do get a very small amount of flutter at low rpm from the BOV so I will probably be testing for other solutions such as a much closer vacuum source for the BOV along with a much shorter line to see if it helps the reaction to close the BOV before the whistle. Hopefully I can get the best of both worlds but for now its time.

my throttlebody whistles too. at first I thought it was not torqued down all the way and was getting a leak inbetween the throttle body and intake manifold but I don't have any boost leaks. so I guess it is just where th ported it and the plate causes the whistleing .

Mine whistles too, but within the past few months I've just gotten used to it, really not that bad at all.

I have been able to eliminate 95% of the whistle by using a stiffer bov spring and a much shorter vacuum line to the bov. I have also benifited in faster return spoolup between gears with the stiffer bov spring as well.

I am sure he has seen this thread or I would think so. To bad he just can't let everyone know if he does have some magic fix.

Instead of assuming he's seen the thread, just send him a pm. I don't see why he would need to broadcast the solution to the competition
