Unhappy So stuttering

I'm shopping for a EVO right now and I can across one that caught my attention. It is a 05 with 23k miles on it. All the ACD lights are on but the issues is when I got WOT. When I go WOT in low gears (1st-3rd)) when it reaches 4k rpm the car stutter pretty bad, but If I floor it gradually it would be fine. I was not getting any CEL either. The only mods I can see on the car is a Megan Cat-back. Oh kind off topic but are the fading calipers on a recall?

could be bad spark plugs or possibly bov spring...does it sound like the bov is letting loose?

Shouldn't that be happening when you lift off the throttle? If I'm wrong please explain and how can it be fixed. Thanks

I went back to the dealer and told them that I was not interested. The changed the plugs, coils, fuel pump and injectors (they showed me proof) and still had same issues. The mechanic told me that he think the ecu was flashed or something causing it to spike. Would the car hit boost cut if it has TBE without cats? I don't think this is the issue since it is a bit quite (it does have a Megan exhaust). So I saved me the headache and went looking around for what I actually want, an 06 MR or SE or 05 with leather.

I just asked the same question tonight and came across this thread. I am having almost the same exact problem. What exactly is compressor surge?

I did a search on it too before I posted this and pretty much all of them said to check the plugs. I had the dealer replace them before I commit to anything. They did and the problem still there. In your case is a bit different though. In yours, it goes away. In this car it doesn't stop. Thats why I was asking about boost cut or something because it felt like it was spiking because I was able to do hit red line if I pressed the gas pedal gradually. As soon as I was past 5k rpm I was able to put the gas pedal at 100%. So I dismissed the car.
