Brian Crower Cams for Evo IX - run untuned?

Some new Brian Crower cams were ordered for me as a gift today and I had some questions on my install. Can I run these 272 cams without a tune? I currently have TBE, K&N Drop In, EBC, Greddy Type S BOV, Works Flash with small street tune. Only reason I don't want to go get a dyno tune yet is my IX turbo is out of shape due to a bolt randomly falling in my intake (dont ask).

If you jacked up your 9 turbo you should turn it into a 20G.

No reason to do 9 cams before a bigger turbo. Its more work and less gain than a Green/20G would provide.

Either way you can run untuned.... you'll still be rich.

a green upgrade is worth it, a standard 20g comp wheel is not, in my opinion...

cams are a nice upgrade...

call forced performance, have them rebuild your IX turbo into a green. get the cams installed and the green, and have the car tuned when all is said and done. You will be one happy camper!

I agree with this. The Buschur Racing 20G-LT (large trubine) is the same turbo as the Forced Performance Green turbo.

I also agree that aftermarket mivec cams on the stock turbo is a waste. You shouldn't add cams until you upgrade the turbo and even then they aren't needed.

Cams are good for 10WHP and a 20G-LT is good for 25WHP.

You can run them without a tune but idle will be rough. Those are aggressive cams...

I plan on going with the TME green but I have also read the turn around time on these things are horrible so i'm trying to buy another stock turbo and sending in my messed up to get worked up.

I also switched to the Brian Crower 280 since i've seen people run them with stock valve train.
