You know it. It's kind of an unspoken thing among many of the people in the industry.

I have the Exedy twin- didnt know about the quarter master so I cant tell you how it compares, but if it is on par with the quality of the Exedy, get what best fits your budget and driving style. I commute with my car sometimes, spend equal time beating on it, but driving around town is still tolerable with it- no regrets going with the Exedy

like stated before... the exedy is a good "starter" clutch especially the twin plate.

Quartermaster is a little bit on the rough edge for racing rather than street.

exedy is more street than track but can do both

quartermaster is more track than street but can do both.

I would highly assume that they are referring to the HD. But I'm not sure because I haven't ever had either of them. The HD would be the better comparison though.

So far I know I probably pushing more then 450hp for sure and my exedy hd twin is slipping through the gears I am hearing that the quartermaster is better for that kind of power. Also having issues with 2nd gear locking me out but that could be me revving to high in first.

Don't get me wrong like like the exedy but for the high powered evo sounds like quartermaster is the deal

I have both. I choose to run the Exedy push style in my EVO as i daily the car and the Exedy is MUCH smoother. I have the QM in my Talon as its just gets driven from time to time.

This is a 3 year old thread that got bumped LOL...I'm pretty sure the guy has replaced his clutch by now.

However, to answer the recent posts..

You must be beating the crap out of it or have the SD, not HD. There are hundreds of evos with more power than you, and in reference the clutch depends on the torque power, who do not have this problem. The lock out problem is only seen in single plates.

I just ordered one through the shop that will be doing the install and paid $1500 for Exedy Twin HD kit. I am also adding a TOB, STM clutch fork stop, and SS lines.

its been 4 years since the thread started, how about we bring this back up! im in the market for one and since its been a year since the last post there should be more reviews up to date about both clutches. LETS HEAR THEM, barely gonna see the drag strip but will be on road race courses with close to 500whp
