we just tested and the harness going to both coils are getting 12v so what else would cause the middle cylinders not to fire

Should be only one coil pack and one plug wire for those cylinders. Did you check the plugs? What are your mods, etc.

i know theres only one going to the middle plugs i just tested both to check. we just put a clutch and pistons and rods in. its getting power but its not firing them for some reason could it b ecu related.

did u check to see if there is ground? if u swap and still no spark then it gotta be the wiring or the ECU

we swapped coils and still no spark in the middle cylinders. so i know the coil is good and its getting a steady 12.6v from the harness. if the spark plug wire is bad would that cause the coil to not work also? im stumped and the only other thing i can think of is the crank sensor but i thought that would cut ignition completely if it wasnt correct.

did you swap the wire along with the coils, or did you just swap the coils?

check your C.A.S. maybe the problem, or the harness

Here is a thread with a pic of how the sensor should look if installed correctly. Post 34

if he hasn't touched the CAS that shouldn't be the issue. what i would do is unplug the connector and check if you are getting 12v and check the ground also. What else you could do is check the resistance of the wires from ecu to the plug but make sure you isolate the circuit because if you don't it might fry the ecu. Resistance should be under .5 volt and if your getting nothing it's probably open in the circuit.

i dont think it the crank sensor cause if the sensor is bad you wont get any spark at all, not just 2 cylinders. you said you get over 12 volts at the connector but have you check for ground? i think the ECU pulses the ground to fire the sparks but i'm not sure.

ok so i found the out what was wrong, my cam angle sensor wasnt connected all the way. so after connecting that it started instantly. once it got warmed up it loped as expected with the newly installed 280's. it then stalled out and i figured id up the idle with ecuflash. so after reflashing the ecu i tried to start the car and nothing happened. it cranked but wouldnt turn over. i also think i lost all spark again like the cas went bad or maybe some kind of imobilizer.
