turbo install

i was thinking about using these bolts on my turbo inlet and o2 housing i looked everywhere and these are all that i found, is this the right type of bolt for this high heat application. i'm afraid that because they are not black they are no heat treated. i want to get them off one day and not break the studs.turbo install-img_0342.jpg

Can't you get hold of the Miysubishi factory issue bolts for your application? Use the factory fasteners along with some hi-temp antiseize compound on the threads prior to assembly and installation. The cheaper, plated bolts are usually manuactured from lower grade steel.

you can use lock washers and anti-seize but theres no guarantee. Try and get the factory ones if you can

oil in turbo

when i bolt my turbo backup and conect the oil return line do i need to fill up the turbo with oil before connecting the top oil line? i read in the service manual that you had to do something like this but it was kind of ambigous i'm thinking the turbo wil fill up when i turn on the car.

You can buy Grade 8 nuts and bolts in the same size and thread as the factory fasteners at a good hardware or auto parts store.

You can prefill the oil feed line to the turbo so that the shaft bearings don't spin dry upon startup. Or you can prime the oil supply to the turbo by just repeatedly clicking the ignition key for only an instant each time but without allowing the motor to start until the oil pressure light in the dash display goes out.
