Wow what a difference

The other day I changed my 3 inch DP and test pipe for the stock DP and cat, and wow what a difference. I couldn't get over how quite it was and smooth the ride is. I changed it to get inspected and I noticed it. When I first put the 3in DP and Test pipe on I didnt feel and huge difference, compared to switching it back.

Thanks for listening I just wanted to share my thoughts

I will be going back to it once I get it inspected which is Tuesday.

I hear ya on that. If you daily drive an evo with 3"tbe no cat... it gets loud and you kinda forget how quite the stock exhaust is. I have been tempted to put the stock cat back on with a cutout on the down pipe.

Did you notice a lack of power? I've really been in a toss up about whether to get a turbo-back or not.

I dd my car, and with the windows up, I never can hear my catless exhaust really. With the windows down, it is very loud but only in boost....and simply sounds amazing.

if you think this is loud, try driving in an Evo with Full 3" TBE, consisting of 3" works DP, Aspec Ti test pipe, and Greddy Ti, with no rear interior .. not a daily driver but I love the way it sounds .grrr haha

Not really a major loss, but I dont have a lot of powerful mods either

"Rides better?"

Much more smooth, not so much rumble....but I like rumble lol

I thought about that aswell not sure what difference there is...do you? Or are they the same.

I have the qtp downpipe with cut out hooked up to a stock exhaust. I make long trips in my car sometimes and i have had an exhaust on it. I got tired of always hearing it but i always have the cutout when i want that nasty sound!

That's why you gotta rock buschur's magnaflow muffler, or two of their bullet mufflers; one in the testpipe, one in the back. Nice and quiet until WOT, but still not obnoxious.

QTP is a good concept. I haven't looked into the physics or practical application but people that have it seem to like. Only a few have complained that their motors burned out.

just go the loud pipe way. 3 inch turbo back, no cat, no muffler. Loud pipes save lives. Besides my neighbors love me.

I had to put my cat on a couple months ago because I couldn't "break" the bolt for my 02 sensor when installing my new catback so I had to go to a muffler shop. I gotta say I forgot how smooth my car drove with a cat, I'm assuming its because there is more backpressure? Less jerky between shifts, easier in stop and go etc. It was nice for the day but not nice enough to make me go back
