clutch help
ratchet + extension + swivel + breaker bar. One of the bolts you have to take the ACD line off to get access to the bolt head. Without removing the ACD line you will have a hard time.
I've done over 3 dozen Evolution clutches, needless to say I can do this blind.
There are 3 bolts on top and 3 on the bottom for both a VIII and a IX. The 3 on the bottom are obvious. The 3 are the top are a bit harder.
There are 2 pretty close to each on top that can be seen from the top looking through on the tranny side but, you need to use an extension and a breaker bar to get them loose. The third bolt is a long bolt that you need to remove the ACD line to get to. Simply unbolt the ACD line from the TC and pull it out of the way through the TC/driveshaft tunnel and let it leak into a can/bottle. Once the line and bolt holding the line is out of the way you'll see the head of the bolt I'm talking about.
FYI - There is also a bolt on the tranny side that secures the TC to the tranny. Its is near the rear tranny mount.
Good luck!!! Hope this helps.

If you need any more help just let me know, glad to help out. Don't worry about disconnecting the ACD line, to re-bleed it is cake and you can do it there with no special tools.

how many bolts are in the tranny, i tried taking it out but it seems stuck, the mount on top of it is sitting all crocked and for some reason it wont come out
There are 2 bolts on the top of the tranny facing towards the motor, than there are 2 bolts on either side of the motor that go through ears in the motor to secure the tranny to the motor. I assume you got the TC out?
What you most likley did is not release the throw out bearing from the clutch. If not you need re secure the tranny so that the tranny output shaft splines realign with the splines of the clutch disc. If you've pulled the tranny out real far you will have a hell of a time realigning it.
To release the throw out bearing from the clutch you need to pull the grommet out of the tranny at the underside and stick a long thick flathead through the hole where the grommet was and put the head between the throw out bearing and the pressure plate teeth. While doing this you need to pull and hold the clutch fork away from the clutch (pull it to the driver's side of the car and hold it there). Once you have the fork held turn the screwdriver 90 degrees in any direction and the throw out bearing will release. You'll know if it released if the clutch fork can be pushed all the way to the left (towards the motor).
It sounds easy but, trust me it can be a real PITA, especially since it sounds like you 've tried pulling the tranny out without releasing the throw out bearing.
A trick to realigning the shaft of the tranny with the clutch is to spin the motor using the crank bolt on the timing belt side. Just turn it slightly to try and get it realigned but, do this after you've tried a few times. Once it is realigned more the clutch fork back and forth a few times to make sure its not snagged.
Good luck, you've got a battle a head of you!!!

Were u able to realign the shaft splines with the disc so that the TOB acted as it should.? If so the best thing to do is push and pull on the fork a few times to move the TOB. Once you've done this hold the fork so that it pushes the TOB against the clutch. Now insert the flathead and turn it 90 degrees. The fork will move slightlyabd you'll know the instant the TOB releases. Also when the flathead I'd turned 90 degrees youcsn try tapping on the fork (towards the motor) to see if you've released.
By guess is that it won't release without having to hit the fork with a hammer to get if to release once you've turned the flathead.
PM if you want to talk this over on the phone.
