sucks man. good luck on the new build & buy the strongest rods u can afford...
Can you please post up a link to this study, or provide the source for this info. Not calling BS, but I want to read the info myself. Thanks

sorry to hear that bro..but what was the cause..it couldnt just have happened out of the blue?

bad gas? bad tune? lack of oil in the engine? something must have happened to allow for all those consequences to happen :s

good luck with your build

Kind of a coincidence with the clutch change within the prior week? I wonder if something could have happened at the shop during the clutch job that caused a slow engine oil leak, and then everything went downhill from there when your oil got really low and you lost oil pressure? I'd check the car out carefully before concluding that it was just a random failure.

Link To HKS Kansai data please. My car has hundreds of "jaunts" @ 30PSI. Stock rods, pistons, crank, rod bolts. I mean if your modding an EVO you better be well aware of the consequences of doing so. But to say a statement like "stock rods are only good to 400 Flywheel HP" is pretty rediculous considering the number of people on this forum producing far more than that every day. Back your info up.

To the OP sorry about your motor man, Sometimes you just have bad luck I guess.

How high have you revved your engine?
What boost?
Didn't you just put Snow alky kit a month ago? Could be the pump? (failed)

Did your crank survive? My motor failed in the same cylinder.
