Either or will work fine...just make sure you sand the rings where the old bushings were...sand it good. I used a dremmel on mine. If not it will be very hard to slide the brass bushings in(most of the time)

Use lots of grease/anti-seize!!!!

"Use lots of grease"

lol that sounds bad. I'm going to get some bushings for my 6speed. I've heard nothing but good things about this upgrade.

I actually just installed a short shifter and base bushings today.

I got the Energy Suspension poly bushings since I used them on my old gsx and they worked great. It's actually the same part number as gsx. For the shifter, I got the Authority one. In combo, they both feel great and the shifts are much better now. It feels much more in control and everything!

I installed a set of Speed Source shifter base bushings this evening and so far I'm happy with them. I ordered them on Thurs or Fri and they got here today (Monday) so I am impressed with the speed of shipping! The pieces were quality and very light weight aluminum. The install was very easy and took maybe 30 mins. The shifter feels solid and precise with these plus my Buschur shifter cable bushings.

I did the underhood bushing and shifter base bushing install last weekend. For the underhood bushings I went with the Speed Source brass bushings. That installation took less than 10 min since I already had the AMS small battery kit installed. The Speed Source bushings are a great product and the difference in shifting is amazing. For the shifter base bushings I installed the Kartboy poly bushings. What a pain in the #@$! The installation should take 20 min but ended up close to 90 min because the bushings do not fit. So then you have to sand the plastic shifter base in order to get the bushings to fit, just an annoying time consuming process. Steer clear of the Kartboy shifter base bushings.
