Manual Boostcontroller

I have done a search all ready with no luck. Im thinking on getting a manual boostcontroller. How accurate is a MBC? I have heard its actually not very accurate and just a turn does not represent a certain number of boost increase compared to Electronic BC. Is it worth the money to buy an EBC?

An mbc is easy to hookup, easy to dial in, and easy to use......and a lot cheaper than a ebc.

You just turn the knob, do a quick pull look at the gauge...then stop and turn the knob again, do a pull etc...until its dialed in.

a monkey could do it.....but that doesn't say much for some people out there

With bpu, you'll be alot more happier with the mbc.

Personally I find EBC's confusing. I've never owned one, nor have I ever really sat down and figured out how they really work. However MBC's are very easy to use and cheap to buy.

Joe P. never gets any love.......they are arguably (imo) the best mbc's on the market and they are fairly priced and work awesome.

I have had mine (pictured in avatar) for 6 years now on 3 different turbo cars and it has never let me down...... I even tested it against the buschur inline mbc and saw no difference in my logs, so I sold the buschur inline because it wasn't any better.

(Now thats not saying the buschur one is bad because its a nice unit but it proved my old joe p. was just as good and I saw no justification to not use my joe p.)

They have different types and designs....including an inline which my friend uses and loves and they are cheaper than most other brand name mbc's out there.

- I use the XZ

Yes those damn EBC look very confusing. MBC are pretty easy to hook up so ill just go with the Buschur i think. pretty cheap and from a good company.

I've been really tempted to set up an EBC, but the MBC is probably good enough.

And I forgot to mention, dialing it in takes very little time. Once you find the sweet spot via the boost gauge, just mark the mbc with a sharpie or something. Set up your low boost setting, mark it up again, and then you'll be good to go.

Probably easier in the long run than the EBC.

If ur really concerned/worried about dialing in the exact boost that u wanted, just get the Buschur Racing True Dual Stage Boost Controller. Set one of low (pump gas map) and high (race gas map). Can't get easier with that on a flick of a switch. (Just don't forget to switch maps too)
