just purchased the exedy single disc stage 2 cerametallic disc on ebay for only $575 new. ive seen it run for $700+ at other locations. they seem to have plenty in stock too. was this a bad choice? my buddies 03 evo is running same disc, he seems to recommend this clutch. im just curious what others have to say comparing this exedy vs. act's single disc like the hdss. i believe the hdss is organic material,and my understanding is that this organic material would be alright but not hold up to our 2step lauches, similair to our OEM clutches, while cerametallic disc can take the abuse of a little slip before the dump. is this correct? is the stage 2 good enough without going to the twin disc on a full factory evo with minor bolt ons? does anyone else in the community run this clutch?

 

I have it on my car, but I don't launch ever. I holds well, though it's a little grabby/chattery when it gets warmed up. Quite a bit more pedal pressure than stock. All in all I like it, just takes a while to get used to it's on/off-ness.

 

thanks for a reply, yea i wasnt expecting a clutch that was soft. i guess ill be submitting a review when i install it since there seems to be not many owners rocking this. also your getting exedy quality for low price.

 

I have it too, great at the track, a bit of chatter and a little annoying in heavy traffic.... but so far its been a great clutch, I'm at 380hp/410tq. at the wheels

 

great clutch for the track, a little harsh on the street, held like a champ so far on over 100 launches and 5k miles.

 

what kinda power is that clutch good for?? im just curious cuz im gonna ditch my act pretty soon and upgrade to exedy or tilton

it is a nice clutch in my opinion but i think for the money at the act hd is a little nicer
