Need advice on flywheels
Alright. Stupid question. I have a ACT Heavy Duty Street Clutch that I need to get installed and I thought about doing the flywheel as well. Good idea? Bad idea? I was looking at the Vendors for flywheels and I don't know what I should get, nor do I know if they make a BIG difference.
I was looking at the ACT Streetlite flywheel, ACT Prolite flywheel, Exedy lightweight flywheel, Clutchmaster's 9.5 Flywheel, and the Clutchmaster's FX100-FX500. If someone could tell me the difference about the flywheels too that'd be great.
Mods on my car...
Agency Power GT35R turbo kit w/ wastegate
HKS SSQ BOV
720cc fuel injectors
255lp fuel pump
HKS short intake
Blitz Nur-spec 80mm catback exhaust
Test Pipe
Flash and tuned stock ecu (280whp)
Thought that might help a bit. Looking for a clutch for a DD, and semi-racing.

My friend has a Findanza 9lb flywheel on his car (with a Southbend clutch) and it really doesn't feel all that different. They are definitely fine for a daily-driver in my opinion, but I don't think its something I would necessarily spend my money on.
I installed both the ACT street clutch and the Xact streetlite flywheel and both are great! A friend got an ACT clutch but decided to just have his stock flywheel resurfaced, but I think for me, might as well get both replaced since I got a pretty good deal on the combo anyways.
I don't think you'll have any problems with the Xact or a fidanza, but if you wanted to save some money and the stock flywheel is still in good condition, for a resurfacing, go with that.

Although it's not absolutely necessary to replace your flwheel when installing a new clutch kit, it is worthwhile doing so while the transmission is out of the car.
As you've discovered we offer 2 different flywheels for the Evo. The Streetlite is similar in weight to the factory unit but designed to be thicker to resist warping compared to the OE piece. The Prolite is the lighter of the 2 and will offer the most dramatic difference in accleration and is also thicker than the OE unit.
If you do a lot of drag racing or live in an area with alot of inclines the Streetlite maybe the better of the 2 options for you. If neither is of great interest to you and you'd like to improve accleration or do road racing I'd recommend the Prolite. The link below shows both along with their weights and features.
