A friend of mine down here went to the track and gutted his car... told no1 and ran a really good time...

I couldnt believe it cause i didnt tune his car too aggresive at all... and im thinking wow he must really know how to shift, perfect weather, good prep...

I later found out from another friend that was there that night (they dont know each other) that the car was partially gutted and thats why he trapped 1.5 mph faster than the last time he tracked it..

A lot have been running 11's with just pump without having to worry about a meth failure. TTP has gotten some car's in the 11's. I'm more then sure my car with of been in the 11's full weight on pump. It had more then enough power on the dyno to do so... So as long as you have the right mods and more importantly, the right tuner, 11's are very much doable.. Cams on a VIII is a must though..

I totally 100% agree with you.. A lot of people will scream a time and MPH without giving the details. Friend of mines ran 11's and everyone was like wow... To find out seats were missing and another person had driven the car... So much for a personal accomplishment...

Yes it was on 93 on a dynoflash tune I believe. Just search around for more info.

I was just mentioning that he could get more out of the car with bolt ons and meth. I am running HKS 280 cams, BR race fmic w/pipes, all bolt ons, and 100% alky. The alky tune made a big difference for me in power.

Thing is about #'s on a dyno... sure the car may pull hard in one gear..

But when youre racing you use all your gears, alot of the time youll knock as soon as you shift 1 to 2 then drag the knock across the whole run..

thats why you see alot of 11.8's @ 113 on here with a 1.8 60'

11s are doable on pump and stock turbo. It took me some practice but I finally did it with a bad clutch and 15k on stock Advans. I would had gotten a higher trap speed on my car if I wasnt hitting my rev-limiter which is still pretty low because i have stock valvetrain.

I also use meth as well . It took me from 374HP/ 358TQ on 93 pump to 415HP and 434TQ. I have a on and off switch controlling it.

Now pump, I know I could have gotten more, but stupid EBC said 100% duty cycle so we only got 23.5 PSI out of that pump run, and not 26 where I wanted it Not only that, but we didn't want to interfier with the meth map as well, so we didn't get all we could on just straight pump. But now, since there's map on the fly changing abilities now, I want to go 100% damn good 93 map and a damn good meth map and I'm sure the car will be a different animal.

But yes, Meth is a very very good thing IMO As long as you have the right fail safes!

I was thinking that 113 was low and was doing that for a reason... That's why JestR and I only road tune. We might go on a dyno, but my final tunes are done on the road for that very same reason!

But you have Cossi cams correct? And improve valvetrain to me was told would only be a safety feature and not a power added... I don't know though

It is a safety if you are revving past 8k. Which the car need in order to get a higher trap speed. Remember that the IX has a shorter 4th gear. I am bumping the rev-limiter before I cross the 1/4 mile. If I could go up to 8100 rpm I might see 115-116 trap plus a faster E.T.

116MPH traps with your mods is not too impressive

lol pump gas, 23 pounds, full wieght and no cams....

okay...

find another car making the same power thats not tuned on the verge of blowing up.

23 pounds, 11.4 afr, low timing =-)

TTP just tuned a car with the same mods + cams and made an impressive 1whp more
