How much torque for o-ringed heads?

For those of you with o-ringed cyl heads (stainless wire) how much torque are you running on the reg ARP head studs? With moly lube.

What headgasket are you using?

I'm running stock headgasket, copper o-rings(in the block), and I think it was 90 ftlbs on the headstuds.

Final torque is determined by the manufacturer's specification, having an O-ring doesn't change the tensile strength of the fastener. Follow the instructions in the box. You should also measure each stud and write down their length and location in the block, so you can check for stretch next time it's apart.

The questions you are asking depend on the specifics of the O-ringing. The depth of the protrusion of the O-ring is important. Where the O-ring contacts the head gasket is important too. If these specifications are not done right and matching, the torque can cause the head to warp.

Ask the person who did the O-ringing for instructions on all of these factors.
