Question cams...are they all the same?

Revolver or jun? I'm looking to get some 272's but does it make a difference who makes it, other than quality? I did a search but there were to many posts to read through.

There all the same, only thing that differs is the price.....

If your not willing to read through the threads to find the information, why should we bother answering every repeat post?

Can you imagine how many more people wouldnt be willing to search for information then?

The effective duration will vary among the various 272 cams. The effective duration is how much duration there is when the cam lifts the valve off it's seat by 1 mm (assuming 1:1 ratio). This difference is due to the 'ramp' rates, or in other words, how quickly the cam gets to the 1mm of lift and then how much duration is still remaining until the cam is within 1 mm of closing the valve. The actual duration may be 272, but the effective is greater on the JUN, for example, than the HKS 272. Not sure how the JUN and Revolvers compare. That's just one of the reasons that all 272's are not the same. Lift is another. Cosworths have 11mm of lift, where the JUN's only have 10.8mm. Higher lift is not always better for power, especially in the smaller turbos.

Revolver are I believe are 264s. I dont think they make them for the 9 either unless they started all of the sudden

JUN are definately top of the line but big bucks plus you'll have to get new valves and valve springs for them. HKS on the otherhand are proven over and over shops have a lot of tuning experience with them and are pretty cheap compared to the competitors...I'd say if you weren't gonna make your Evo into a race car get the HKS 272.
