my plans.. what do you think

i have a 2005 evo 8.. i have just basic bolt ons. but this is what im gonna do
im gonna buy the atp 35r kit.. but my car has 58,000 miles... my car has only had mods for 10,000 miles... this car has alllot of highway miles (i just drove to FL the other week, 3500 miles) my car doesnt really get beat on.. obviouslly the occasional pull.

should i check the motor before the big turbo.. incase it cant handle it... by the way im only gonna run 18-19psi... should i jsut screw it and if the motor goes 10,000 miles after the big turbo ill just do a 2.3l.... what do you guys think?

what numbers should i see on 18psi pump gas.. 400ish?

18psi on pump gas with a 35r? You don't seem to have really thought this thing through.

That is by far the worst turbo kit you can buy. What are all your mods? Their ia probably a lot you need to do before thinking about a turbo kit. Stay clear of that one.

No ATP kit has ever made 500whp. The 35r makes less power than the 30r. It is a waste of money. A stock turbo evo will beat an ATP kit car. Finish your bolt ons first then think about an upgraded turbo.

What is your goal for the car? This should be the first question you ask yourself. Once you can answer this then do some reading and then call the experts, and get thier opnion. Otherwise you will build something you are not happy with. good luck

At 18-19psi a 35r will be useless

cams, camgears, green, meth that will get you the power you want and it will spool like stock rather than at 5,500 rpm.

Seriously, there is a atp 35r guys car that we take care of, his last tune on 93 pump with 22-23 psi made 350whp (our dynodynamics reads very low, add 20 - 25% or so for dynojet numbers) and does not hit full spool till about 5,500 rpm.

I made 350 with green and meth on the same dyno and I hit full spool before 4,000. His car feels faster because of the lag, all the power comes in at once, but mine is faster because of the wider powerband.

dude u are so ****ing wrong.

op- i have the ATP 3037s and love it. i made 472whp 426wtq with 25psi, 93 octane and meth. this friday i am droping off my car to have new pistons rods and bearings ect installed and when the motor is broken in, i will hit 500whp no problems.

if u do get the ATP, make sure u port the hotside and have the correct mods to make some nice power.

what i want is like around 22-24 psi but i wanna achieve 400.. 425whp.. no meth.. none of that.. no cams(maybe eventually some 272 bc's).. what about the ETS 57 trim... will this turbo make 400whp on 24psi

i know the fpgreen is a great turbo, i wanted one. but you would have to run a pretty high psi to get 400.. 425whp and you would probably run meth..

You are the only one making power on those kits. Period. The 35r is just terrible. The backhousing cannot flow that turbo. It is a cheap way to make a larger turbo fit on the stock manifold. You get ****ty spool and crappy power. Stop trying to defend this kit. Buy another kit and be amazed on how much more power you make.
