David Buschur runs 40 PSI on it and makes 700HP on a Dyno Jet about 680 on his dyno. Still gives him a 9.5 @ 151 1/4 mile, so the HTA should be enough unless you want a all out race car to go into the low 9's.

you realize you will need a complete turbo kit with either option, right? It's not as simple as bolting on a new turbo to your megan manifold.

I've been considering the same turbo's (4088r or hta35r). I completely ruled out the 4094 because all the research I've done suggests it is completely unefficient and laggy. From what I've read, if you can handle the lag of a 4094 you should just go all out and get a 42r but that would be overkill for your goal. The 4088 has made over 500whp on pump and would probably make 600 with meth. With race gas the ts t4 4088r has made over 740 whp and according to some has better street manners and faster spool than a single scroll 3582r (not sure about a single scroll hta though). I'm still awaiting the results of the twin-scroll hta 35r. If this combination works it should make similar power #'s as the 4088r and spool faster as well. However, at this point no one knows if the ts t3 hta combination will work without massive compressor surge. Unfortuanately for old DSM guys like myself, the twin-scroll T3 hta35r may not be an option at all because no one makes a divided t3 mani for dsms

jkimes, FYI the GT4094R is essentially for those that would like to run a 42R but cannot package it underhood.

The 4094R simply splits the difference, in terms of power and response, between a GT4088R and the GT4294R.

well that's not completely obvious since you are comparing two extremely different turbos. It's hard to assume you have the basics down when comparing the two turbos you picked for your power goal. Sorry if you took offense.

I know this already, but the original post stated that he was considering a 4094 and I was trying to explain to him exaclty what you said above in my original post, but I guess you didn't understand. Reguardless, the T4 ts bb 4088r or T3 ts hta 35r should both have excellent street manners and fun driveability as well as great top end power. I know for a fact that the ts 4088 has made over 700whp on race gas, around 600 on meth, and 500 ish whp on pump in DSM's. The jury is still out on weather or not the ts hta 35r will make the same numbers but it sounds like evodan will have results very soon. I personally have been researching this for over a year trying to make my decision and everthing I've read says that twin scroll turbos are more effient and fun to drive so I personally would not opt for a single scroll hta 35r.

Aside from the specifics of these turbos basically being analyzed down to the molecule on the boards...umm

The HTA ftw.

I would say HTA35R for your power goals and if you wanted more i would go with the 4088R and not even think about the 4094R.

i highly recommend the hta35r for the street driving. the 40 will be a little too laggy. youd get better spool out of the hta and better tq at lower rpms. build your motor if you havent already though.
