Oil in intake manifold...what is the cause?

Took off the head today and the intake manifold was full of oil, the valves look horrible also. There is nasty oil on everything. Before I took the motor apart, there was a bad oil consumption problem. I would have to add a quart a day.

Based on this, can anyone tell me what the problem might be?

Thanks

Crankcase vapor.... It's normal. This is why people run catch cans. Adding a quart a day is extremly exccesive though.

You have the knowledge to pull the head off, but not describe your question better.
Otherwise we need more info cause any other reply is just a guess.

How does your intercooler piping look, does that have any oil in it, any kind of residue?

its normal for oil to go into the intake pipe when it is stock....over time stuff like that can happen....

invest in a oil catch can and you wont have to worry about that....

quart a day? wow that is excessive. I use 2qts every 1000k miles and I thought that was bad lol. My problem I believe are the rings were not done properly by ...uven I've had this problem since they built the engine and that is what I was told "normal" Its really not... but have it checked by someone that knows what they are doing.
