Just got the call today, believe it or not.
He had one with a resonator on it that he had available.
Naturally I took it, not waiting any longer. Don't mind a little quieter anyway, less attention from the cops.

you'll be happy with it... is the resonator visible, or buried in the muffler...?

Yeah something like 3 months.

The resonator is in the pipe, like stock or the RMR. Quiets it down a little but keeps it's nice deep tone.
It still uses the same muffler.

Awesome that you finally got yours Tim!

Oh, and from now on, all AMS catbacks will be manufactured with the resonator.

Talking

I had mine installed today.

I went to a local muffler shop for the install (I don't have a garage), and the guy had it done in about 25 minutes. They never saw an EVO before, and the manager thought it was a WRX w/ a cool body kit.

It looks and sounds great. It's louder than stock, but not too noisy and w/o that annoying Fart can sound!

It's also pretty quiet in 4th and 5th if you are at cruising speed.

IMO I feel the biggest difference in the mid range.

Thanks AMS, thanks Emil!

Now you just need to get that high flow cat!

If you are saying that AMS will NOT make the non resinated catbacks , that is incorrect. I spoke to Kris and he said they WILL continue to make non resinated catbacks because it is a lil cheaper for the customer. Just wanted to clear that up so everyone here didn't start ordering the $645 catback down the road and get upset when they realize that it doesn't have a resinator.

incorrect.

it's the other way around.. seems strange, right?

it's actually cheaper to make it resonated.

I am going by this.

Dustin,

The EVO VIII exhausts will remain without the resonator to keep
the cost down. I DO have like 5 exhausts being made with the
resonator in them right now, if you have any other customers that
are interested in a little bit softer-toned exhaust system I will
have these few available for you.

When did you receive that message?

I was just there on Wednesday to pick up exhausts, and they told me that after these 5 exhausts, they will make it only with the resonator.
