Crank Pulleys

Just came across a Perrin crank pulley. Haven't heard alot of people talk about them. Does anyone have one and is it a good upgrade? Pros and cons.

i too am considering this but the views are not clear as to if all good or bad when using them
i ran unorthodox on another engine(sr20) and after 6yrs and then scrapping for a rebuild, bottom end was perfect and that engine got abue but this is a mistubishi and once the engine is internally balanced then should pose no issue.

Does balancing the rotating assembly absorb the shock from the power stroke, a detonation event, or natural harmonics? What frequency does your new balanced crank go harmonic at? At what frequency does a stroker crank go harmonic? Ever see the tacoma narrows bridge? It was well balanced in static. When dynamic wind started acting on it then we had footage for a cool Sony commercial. That and a dog drowned in a car I believe.

Also inline 4 cylinder engines are balanced in first order vibrations. They however are not balanced for second order vibrations. This is why mitsu puts balance shafts in their bigger bore motors, to help isolate the driver from the second order vibrations. So once again does balancing the motor get rid of second order vibrations? What is the crank pulley's role in all of this. Is it just a pulley?

I got the perrin crank pulley and so does my buddy . fits great , uses stock , belt and also picked up 4whp with it. not huge gains , but its noticeable in the mid range to top end. i noticed very little extra vibrations. however i am switch soon to the UR pulley set up. its more money , but good for 10-13whp. As long as u got ur balance shafts in ur fine. if u do balance the motor you can pull the balance shafts , but also a good idea to keep them in for safe measure. over all i love the pulley
