which car was yours? the one with the banged up door? or the one that was all pimped out with carbon fiber everything...and advans..arc...??
Hahahaha I have the car with the messed up door, volks, and all varis carbon fiber pieces on the nose. Did you have the black car with the small wing (can't remember the name)?

Yeah numbers aren't everything, it's all about the usable power and it has a lot of that. Remember this is my daily driver boost level and it can be turned up for track days. Cause of the power under the curve, people are getting great times with this turbo.

Yeah, I have run it at etown a few times when it had a couple bolt ons. I am not sure when the track open in the spring, but I will probably head to Island Dragway on a Sunday since I have class on Wednesday nights when etown has test and tune.

I put in the cams, green, o2 housing, and injectors at the same time. Before that the car was tuned a few years ago before I bought it at around 300hp and just under 300tq.

Congrats on the green - I'm running HKS 264/264 and I'm wondering if a change to the S1s or HKS 272/272 would benefit me for road course.
Has anyone here changed their cams from HKS 264/264 to other cams and recorded the difference?

In all fairness to Ivey, I requested he be ultra conservative and he built a "no knock" tune that I am very pleased with.

To the OP.

Your PEAK torque IS lower than what we normally see an evo8 do with your mods. We **should be looking at 360+trq. However there is a simple explanation for that. Digging back into my dsm archives (my experience with 02 dumps) : Your O2 dump is eliminating the spike that creates peak torque. Im sure that your guage hardly ever reads 1psi past your target peak boost when your turbo spools. The spike is created because when the wg flapper opens, the exhaust gasses are not escaping (bled) as fast as it wants to, thus the quick ramp up in boost pressure.

I am waiting for TTP to finish its dump and offer it to the evo market. I hate spiking and I believe the extra relief in backpressure up top, will be an advantage when I cross the 1320 screaming in 4th.

From another angle, your average torque is on par with any other car with your mods. For example. Your torque band is rather flat (good thing), but you still make out with 275lbft of torque by redline, which in comparison to many other pump-green-dynographs, is where you should be. I normally see 250+ on 8 and 9 turbos at this point. I'm critical of torque towards redline.

I dont completely agree that the 02 dump is what is causing the drop in peak torque. I had an 02 dump on my car and I felt my torque spike INCREASE. My car was spiking 25psi on pump gas (I usually ran around 23-24). I never had that issue when I had just a normal Ebay 02 housing. My car made insane torque when I went to the dyno and that was on pump gas. My track times also reflected the power pretty well I think. I eventually upgraded to the Green turbo and on methanol on a crappy day made 442whp with matching 441 torque at around 30psi.

Sorry for delayed response, just saw this post now as I was re-reading the thread. I didnt have anything logging my boost but it basically slammed 29-30psi, then after arond 6400rpm it would start falling to around 26psi by redline (7300rpm or so). My car even on the stock turbo made retarded high torque for pump gas only, so I wasnt suprised it made great torque with the Green too.

The 50 trim will have more top end, but I wanted power under the curve, not peak power cause it's just a number and doesn't show how usable the power is once in the car.
