Finally got my FP green installed

Yesterday I went down to see Sean Ivey and got my car dynoed and tuned. It is an 03 with 58k miles on it, and this past week I added an FP Green turbo, HKS 272's, turboXS FMIC, o2 housing with external dump tube, injectors, etc... I was hoping to get over 400hp on 93, but wasn't sure if my goals were realistic. They weren't lol, but the car did put down 385 hp and 345 tq at 24 lbs boost. I was a little disappointed with the numbers until I drove the car, and man is it fun. i have never been one for having a car that is a "dyno queen" but it would have been nice to have the number I wanted, however with the way it is set up it doesn't matter at all. It idles completely smooth and power rolls on just as smooth. The dump tube is loud but sounds good and the car will break the tires loose straight through second gear with the ground being so cold.

The car is my daily driver and will probably see another 5-7k miles before the summer, which is why I didn't want to go crazy with it and put in a larger setup. I have driven a lot of fast cars before, including my friends 500+ whp 35R Evo and this is hands down the most fun car i have had. There is not a lot of lag (if any) and boost threshold doesn't seem that far off from where it was with the stock turbo.

I would like to thank Sean Ivey for doing one hell of a job tuning the car and for helping me out with the extra's I needed. He is a nice guy and knows what he is doing and isn't gonna bs you to try and get more money out of you. If you are able to, I definitely recommend going to Ivey Tune, and for anyone looking for a fun daily driver that isn't too crazy, get the Green. It's a blast to drive and I can't wait to get to the track come spring time.

awesome I'm in the middle of searching now for a slight turbo I was thinking of a green or a 50 trim. How do they stack up? In the mean time I am going to search more because I know I saw some threads a while ago.

Again congratulations. Have fun and be safe.

P.s forgot to ask, can you post your chart?

The 50trim will give you more power, but that is peak power. The reason I went with the green is because it is not a whole kit but puts good power. My friends 9 with a bunch of parts (cams, o2 housing with dump, meth injection etc) but the stock turbo housed a car with a 50trim. The 50 trim will have more top end, but I wanted power under the curve, not peak power cause it's just a number and doesn't show how usable the power is once in the car.

Yeah I have all basic supporting mods, 255lph fuel pump, injectors, headstuds, IC piping, down pipe, exhaust. I was over eager with the numbers, but I I really don't care cause it is too much fun. I just can't wait til the winter is over so I can go to the track and get some numbers with my crappy driving lol.

FYI, people with Green on pump gas do not hit 400whp on a dynojet. So your numbers seem pretty good, maybe even a bit higher than average.

Yeah like I said I was thinking a little unrealistic but I am happy with the results.

I don't have any pics of the o2 housing, but I can try to take some if I can get under the car. I bought it off of my friend when he took it off his car. The Shop made it for him when Al was tuning his car. There was a big thread about it over the summer cause his car was putting down like 420hp on the stock 9 turbo.

yeah his numbers do seem a little high, its a 8 too. But he is on 24 psi also..most guys go with 22 or 23 psi on pump from what i have seen. Would that 24 psi be positively safe for a daily driver? I mean wont that make it run lean.

They customize an 02 housing where a tube is added at the wastegate port to allow the wastegate to dump externally instead of back into the exhaust.

Your torque number is quite low in my opinion. I dont know if its just your car or the setup. I can tell you what its not, and that is the tune. Sean is one of the best tuners, bar none. He tuned my car on the Green and I was making 442whp with matching 441wtq on a 90 degree day with my on fire. This was of course on pump gas with meth though at 29psi. Nevertheless, on 25-26psi my car was making 415whp and 415wtq. Can you list your EXACT mods in order?

The reason I thought I would go higher is because I have seen other people put down more, and I think the torque is low too but I know there is nothing wrong with the tune.

Mods:
HKS Intake
FP Green
HKS 272/272 cams
o2 housing with dump tube
Catless downpipe (not sure what brand it was on the car when I bought it with the rest if the exhaust)
Carbon Ti exhaust
255 walbro
680cc PTE injectors
turbo XS FMIC
UICP and LICP
JDM MR BOV
ACT Street disk (getting swapped out tomorrow for an Exedy twin HD)
and spark plugs, but I can't remember which ones Sean put in.

I think that is it, but I may have forgot something. As far as I know you can't buy the o2 housing like this, but a good shop could weld one together. When the car is in the air tomorrow I will try to take some pics of it.

24~25 psi is ok for an VIII on Pump Gas with Green.
That is what I run on my set-up.
You will not run lean, if the car is tuned with a wideband by a proffessional, and all the parameters are logged and adjustments are made to correct A/F, Timing, Etc.

Rustyreno, Great looking Dyno graph, .
Enjoy your nice Turbo.
