Necessary tools for degreeing cams
Necessary tools for degreeing cams
Hello,
When it comes to equipment, what do you recommend I purchase as far as a dial gauge, degree wheel, pointing device, and any other tools I may need related to degree'ing the cams (brand, type, where to buy, etc)?
I have a spare engine sitting on a stand in my garage, and I want to teach myself how to properly degree the cams. So far, I have become fluent with the terminology and read several threads on the process, and I believe I have a general understanding of it. I only intend on this being a learning process; Some information that I can eventually use once my bottom end gets built up.
Thanks in advance, and if I posted this in the wrong place I apologize.

The parts in question are universal in nature, and can be purchased conveniently from any discount parts house. The use of a lightweight valvespring and solid tappet will give more accurate measurements.
